With this ticket you reach Ristis from Engelberg with the cable car. It is a 65-person cable car and takes about 3 minutes to Ristis

From Ristis you have several possibilities for your leisure activities in summer:

Popular hikes:

Ristis-Schwand-Engelberg: You take the cable car to Ristis and walk back. On 4 km you hike downhill for about 2 hrs. 15 min. and overcome about 600 meters of altitude. This hike is possible with a baby carriage. You can refresh yourself at the Berglodge Ristis and at the Gasthaus Schwand.
Ristis-Rugghubelhütte: From Ristis you hike about 2.5 hours comfortably (T2) over a length of 6.6 km. You will pass Rigidalalp - Teufelstein - Planggenalp. You have to cope with almost 700 meters of ascent and descent on the way. The Rugghubel hut is located at 2294 m above sea level in the Uri Alps.
Ristis-Wittigstock: On this difficult mountain hike you will overcome 1300 meters of altitude. The trail leads you via the alp Rigidalstafel - Rugghubelhütte - Engelbergerlücke. For the distance of 9.8 km you should plan at least 4:15 hours.

Summer toboggan run, playground and barbecue areas:

At Ristis you will find a small paradise for children. Carousels, three swings, a trampoline, seesaws, slides, a large climbing and balancing landscape as well as a small rope park make children's hearts beat faster. The 660 m long summer toboggan run circles the playground.

Large parking lot at the valley station Engelberg (5 CHF per day)
A free bus runs from Engelberg train station to the Brunni valley station in winter
The cable car is open depending on the weather, therefore it is important to check the weather conditions before arrival
Dogs require their own tickets

Swiss Activities Tip

In summer it is recommended to combine a hike with a visit to one or more alpine cheese dairies. For example, you can reach the alp Hüttismatt from Ristis by going under the chairlift. The alp Langerboden is located between Ristis and Engelberg. A third cheese dairy can be found near the valley station: the show dairy of the monastery.

With pram or wheelchair

The panoramic hiking trail between Ristis and Brunnihütte is passable with an all-terrain pram or wheelchair. Between Ristis and Rigidal the path is asphalt. From Rigidal to the Brunnihütte it is a gravel path that requires some strength. Downhill it is easier.
