Description

The Signalkuppe is a beautiful peak in the Monte Rosa massif near Zermatt. At 4553 meters, it towers above most of the surrounding peaks. On the Italian side of the mountain is the Capanna Margherita, the highest building in Europe.
This tour will take you during two days over the Black Gate to the top of the Signal Peak. You will be accompanied by a private mountain guide with a lot of experience. You should also have a lot of experience with 4'000m peaks and alpine climbing in the 3rd to 4th degree of difficulty. It is also important that you acclimatize with another tour before the climb.
You will meet your mountain guide in the morning at the valley station of the Matterhorn Express. Together you will take the train up to the Klein Matterhorn station. From there, you will travel via the Unter Theodul Glacier or the Schwarztor to the Gorner Glacier and climb up to the Monte Rosa Hut. After spending the night there, you start again at 03:00 in the morning. Now you climb over the Grenzgletscher up to the Signalkuppe. Finally you will go back down to Zermatt together.
