Swiss Activities Tip

Emmetten has an unusual attraction. In the pretty Holy Cross Chapel, you can find a Dance of Death panel from around 1710. Its curved shape comes from its original location. The panel was previously integrated into the arch of the ossuary of the now-demolished St. Jacob's Church. 23 nearly square individual images are displayed in four rows. The Cross Chapel is located in Emmetten on the road leading to Seelisberg.
