The dreamy and picturesque Muotathal is home to one of the largest caves in the world: the Hölloch. 200 kilometers of the cave system have already been explored and the first 700 meters of the cave were already comfortably developed with stairs and paths 100 years ago

The mysterious and mystical world under the earth can be discovered on one of the guided tours. The short tours are open to the public and are conducted in groups of maximum 30 participants. You will learn all kinds of exciting things about the history, formation and life of the cave.

In front of the guard house you will meet your guide and the other participants. You will be equipped with everything you need for a short tour in the cave. Put on your helmet and headlamp and let's go! On this tour you will discover the beautiful interior of the cave. Let yourself be enchanted by the stalactites and rock formations as well as the mystical darkness visually and by the acoustics of the cave passages auditorily. Your group guide will always tell you exciting facts about the cave and will be happy to answer your questions.

Finally, a wonderful highlight awaits you! A short concert in the middle of the event location in the cave will give you goose bumps. Enjoy the atmosphere before you make your way back to the surface

Swiss Activities Tip

Good to know: If you are claustrophobic or afraid of heights, you will most likely have no problems in the cave hole, because even the narrowest parts are easily passable and in the darkness of the cave you rarely see the height differences.
