With the funicular railway, you depart from Lugano Cassarate in 14 minutes crossing two sections to Mount Brè. At the top, you will be greeted with stunning views of Lake Lugano and surrounding mountains.
Light to difficult hiking trails are available in an extensive network. Bicycles are only transported on the second section.
Section 1:
- Valley station: Lugano Cassarate
- Mountain station: Suvigliana
- The train accommodates a maximum of 30 people and runs continuously between 7:00 and 21:00 every 15 minutes.
Section 2:
- Valley station: Suvigliana
- Intermediate stations: Albonago - Aldesago - Brè Villaggio
- Mountain station: Mount Brè
- The train seats up to 68 people and runs continuously between 9:00 and 17:00 every 30 minutes. In summer, the operating hours extend into the evening.
Practical information:
- Prams: folded or closed strollers and prams are transported free of charge. They must fit through the turnstile at entry and exit.
- Wheelchairs cannot be transported.
- Small dogs (up to a maximum shoulder height of 30 cm) travel free of charge in suitable containers (basket or bag) without their own seat.
- Bicycles are only carried on section 2 (for a fee) but must not be excessively dirty.
- Parking at Lugano Cassarate valley station is limited. It is advisable to use public transport (bus lines 2 and 12 TPL) for arrival.
