The Chapel Bridge with its cycle of paintings is the undisputed landmark of Lucerne. It runs from the New Town past the water tower to the Town Hall Quay. Why not stop at a café on the Reuss River before strolling through the beautiful Old Town, enjoying historic places such as the wine market or the Kornmarkt with the town hall. Notable features include the painted façades and the many shops. The compactness of the old town makes it perfect for a shopping tour.

Lucerne and Lake Lucerne

Start your tour around the lake at the unique KKL next to the train station. A little further on is the “Inseli” park, which is a haven in summer. Take a stroll along the wide waterfront promenade opposite with its elegant hotels to the Museum of Transport. In warmer weather, you can explore the lake by pedalo and end the day with a dip at the lakeside swimming pool.

The fjord landscape of Lake Lucerne is best explored by boat. Discover the top excursion destinations in the region: Brunnen on the “Swiss Path”, Vitznau with the Rigi or Alpnachstad with the Pilatus.
