The new Thurgauer Fabelweg Trail above the western bank of Lake Constance offers hiking fun for the whole family. With its superb views, the alpine trail from Steckborn to Ermatingen via Oberfruthwilen combines the best enjoyment of the natural surroundings with superb hiking in a fairytale setting over an easy 11 kilometres.

18 stages between Steckborn and Ermatingen take you into a charming fantasy world. The themed trail, which is 11 kilometres in length and especially suitable for children and families, can be completed comfortably within three hours and offers spectacular views of the region surrounding Lake Constance. Always present: «Meister Petz» the bear, «Meister Lampe» the hare, and many other feathered and furry mythical creatures which are presented on 18 panels along the mythical trail with their stories.

In addition to stories from famous writers, there are any number of challenging quiz questions and suggestions for games. Group tasks such as conjuring up excuses and piggy back racing also help bring the hiking teams together. Two barbecue and picnic sites are situated half way along the route which invite walkers to take a rest.
