Description

The Aargau Jura Park is the home of Perimuk the Jura dinosaur. He’s called that because his outline looks like the perimeter of the Aargau Jura Park (how it appears on a map). He takes families on four different exciting adventures: the Perimuk trails.
In the Aargau Jura Park there are four adventure trails featuring Perimuk the Jura dinosaur. Each circular trail is an adventure all by itself and is not connected with the other trails. There are exciting riddles to solve, which will help you find out about the landscape of the Aargau Jura Park. The photo orienteering map makes it easy to find the right path, and the hike itself soon becomes an adventure. The actual hiking time on the circular trails is 2 to approx. 4 hours.

Herznach Perimuk Trail: The 6-kilometre trail leads from the village of Herznach into the neighbouring forest, past a Glögglifrosch pond, the mine and a pine forest. Equipped with your researcher kit, the idea is to find sonorous toads, stone snails and sparse forests. The trail is suitable (with one small detour) for off-road buggies.

Cheisacher Perimuk Trail: The 4.5-kilometre trail leads from Ampferenhöhe above Mönthal to the Cheisacher lookout tower. The aim is to find all of Perimuk’s children. The trail starts at Ampferenhöhe. The trail is not suitable for buggies.

Perimukweg Biberstein: The 4-kilometre-long trail leads from the Aare into the hills around Biberstein. The aim is to find Perimuk's lost lucky charm again. Start and finish are at the castle shop of the Biberstein Castle Foundation. The hike is basically doable with an all-terrain pram. There are a few steep spots with roots that can be avoided by taking small detours.

Wölflinswil Perimuk Trail: The 7-kilometre trail leads from the village of Wölflinswil up to the Strihengrube nature reserve. On the way there’s an animal-based riddle to solve: you need to find the secret code to Mr Glögglifrosch’s safe. What can he have hidden inside? The circular trail starts and ends in the centre of the village at the Wölflinswil, Post bus stop. In principle, the trail is suitable for off-road buggies, but there are some slopes and ascents involved.
