Science Fiction, Utopia and Otherworldly Travel Museum

Description

Founded by the writer Pierre Versins in 1976, the Maison d'Ailleurs (house of elsewhere) is Europe's one and only museum of science fiction, utopia and extraordinary journeys.
The Maison d'Ailleurs is a most original cultural site: 120,000 documents make the museum a significant base for research in the field of science fiction. And, in addition to 80,000 books; comics, pulp magazines, movie posters, pictures, toys, CDs and works of art round up this collection of very different items.
To date, more than thirty exhibitions on diverse science fiction themes (space, utopia, steampunk sculptures, video games, etc.) have seen the light here. Since 2008, the Maison d'Ailleurs also shows the works of Jules Verne (and other pioneers of science fiction) in a dedicated permanent exhibition in the avant-garde passageway connected to the museum.
