Ambassadors’ Nativity Scene at the Jesuit Church in Solothurn

  • Image 1

Description

The «Ambassadors’ Nativity Scene» is a rarity and sure to attract all nativity scene lovers to Switzerland’s most beautiful Baroque town.
Solothurn’s «Ambassadors’ Nativity Scene» is Switzerland’s only set of Baroque nativity figures. The round about 60 ornately made nativity figures very probably date from the 18th century. The lifelike wax heads boast individual facial features and the figures are dressed in magnificent garments made from historic fabrics.

The nativity scene, which is well worth seeing, is exhibited in the Jesuit Church in the Old Town of Solothurn from the end of November to the start of January.
