Rock Climbing Walls in Leysin

  • Image 1

Description

Rock climbing requires a certain amount of strength and a particular style, and can be practised both outdoors and indoors.
These climbing walls enable beginners to learn techniques, manoeuvres and gestures involved in rock climbing, while experienced climbers can train in order to perfect their techniques or to learn a new move that they can use later in a natural environment. Leysin has three rock climbing walls:

1) The "Centre Sportif de la Patinoire" has five routes. Height: 12 metres / width: 6 metres
2) The "Centre Sportif de la Piscine" has 9 routes. Height: 8 metres / width: 12 metres
3) The "Centre Sportif de la Piscine" also has a climbing boulder. Height: 2.5 metres / surface: 60 metres. This is unusual as climbers are not issued with a safety rope; however, there is a safety mat on the ground.

The wall and the necessary equipment is available at the centre.
Note: there is no supervision. However, it is possible for beginners to hire a mountain guide on request.
