Surrounded by the mighty trio of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau peaks, visitors to the Schynige Platte Alpine Garden can admire over 600 plant species in their natural habitats.

This Alpine Garden was the first in the Alps and is still one of the very few gardens of this type. It displays numerous plants that occur above the treeline in Switzerland. Easy paths (approx. 1 km with an ascent/descent of approx. 40 m) take visitors past some 600 species during summer. These make up no less than two thirds of Switzerland's entire Alpine flora. Even non-specialists will understand the display easily thanks to informative labels.

The entrance to the Alpine garden is located directly adjacent to the mountain station of the Schynige Platte railway.
