Description

What exactly are wetlands? 150 years ago, this wasn’t a question on anyone’s mind as the lowlands along the rivers and streams weren’t obstructed by dams. Instead, water acted as a creative architect to form diverse, vibrant wetlands.
The Aargau wetland conservation park aims to create more space for nature without denying access to people. After all, interacting with nature in its purest form meets a requirement of modern societies seeking to balance out their technology-driven everyday lives.

The Aargau wetlands can be explored on foot, by bike or by boat, with numerous viewpoints and campfire sites available to visitors. Follow the unmistakable tracks of a beaver, watch as a kingfisher flies elegantly over the water, spot the bright, bold colours of a yellow anemone amidst the undergrowth or simply savour the soothing peace and quiet surrounding you.
