The “Festival Images” is the largest open-air visual arts festival in Switzerland and is held every two years from mid-September to the start of October in Vevey. The festival is free of charge and has rapidly made a name for itself with its enormous reproductions of photographs lining the streets of Vevey. The exhibitions scattered throughout the city provide a key platform for contemporary photography, particularly the photos entered into the international Grand Prix Images Vevey photography competition. Offering one of the highest monetary prizes in Europe, this competition attracts more than 800 projects from all over the world each year.
