Description

The “Passarelle” is a landscaped bridge suspended between the crowns of trees rooted in the forest below. At its end, a viewing platform is suspended in the empty space, offering its visitors a 180-degree-panoramic view of Lake Maggiore, the Centovalli and the Maggia Valley.
At the geological observation station (highest point of the Cimetta) you can enjoy a 360-degree vista over the entire region and the adjoining mountain chains. One can even discover the “Linea insubrica”, the dividing line between the northern and southern part of the Alps. The geological station on Mt. Cimetta offers deep insights into the origin and development of these magnificent mountains. Cardada is most comfortably reached by a funicular that takes you from Locarno to Orselina, where an aerial cable car whisks you to Cardada.
