Description

Worth the trip for the ascent alone: the Wengen Männlichen cable car scores extra points for the open-air balconies on the roof of its new cabins. From here, guests can enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding landscape.
Passengers access the balcony via a spiral staircase and can enjoy the unique panorama of the natural surroundings and majestic mountains throughout the journey. After a ten-minute trip, the cable car reaches the Männlichen upper station at 2,229 metres above sea level. Alternatively, a cable car from Grindelwald will get you there in 20 minutes. Once you reach the top, the panoramic view will take your breath away. It’s no wonder people say that the view of the big three – Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau – is more impressive from the Männlichen than from anywhere else. And the most comfortable place to enjoy it is definitely from a sun lounger outside the mountain inn.

In addition to numerous other themed hiking trails (Gemsenweg, Liselotteweg, Romantikweg, etc.), a short 30-minute “Royal Walk” trail takes you to the summit at 2,342 metres. On the way, visitors can discover more about this fantastic mountain world on seven information pillars.
