The high Alpine village of Samnaun, on the Austrian border, is particularly well-known for its duty-free shopping. But, in fact, it has much more to offer than cheap gas and perfumes. Samnaun is indeed located in the middle of a practically untouched alpine region.

Several educational trails show the region's fauna and flora, located at an altitude of 1840 m.a.s.l. Lovers of plants will enjoy the Plant Trail which explains which plants exist here, while those interested in ecology and topography will enjoy the Alpine Forest Trail. Culturally interested visitors will like the Historic Hiking Trail and the local museum which gives insights into the local history.

How to get there:
Drive or take public transportation from Chur via Davos/Flüelapass or Klosters/Vereinatunnel to Samnaun to the Lower Engadine.
