Gold-Gusti is an expert in his field, and you might say he’s a Swiss gold-prospecting legend. For several decades he’s sought out gold all over the world, but his greatest find was in the Medelserrhein in 1996. The “Desertina nugget” is the largest gold nugget ever found in Switzerland.

It doesn’t matter if you’re a practised gold washer or an inexperienced newbie – in Disentis everyone has the chance to find their own gold in the river Rhine. At the TCS Camping site, Gold-Gusti is always ready to welcome those interested in gold and introduce them to the world of gold prospecting. Every day in summer, holidaymakers can attend an introductory course. Then, equipped with a gold washing pan, trowel and wellington boots, they go off in search of the shining precious metal.
