Description

A ramble over moors in bloom or in autumn colours. Entlebuch Biosphere has Switzerland's most extensive moorlands.
On this short circular hike from Sörenberg, participants discover the rarities of this unusual habitat. These include the carnivorous sundew: insects hang from its sticky 'feelers', supplying it with nitrogen that is lacking in the high moors.

Later on as visitors walk on moorland in bare feet, they realise that the ground is floating on water.

Moorland Fascination is a public excursion staged by the Biosphere Academy. Track wild animals with experts, stroll across blooming moorland, or descend into one of the many caves in the Schrattenflue karst mountains: just some of the excursions on the Entlebuch Biosphere's programme.
