Description

This magnificent botanical garden is set on the Gambarogno side of Lago Maggiore, on the hillside terrace between Piazzogna and Vairano. Here, the Parco Botanico del Gambarogno foundation lavishes endless love and skill on the over 17,000 square metres of gorgeously colourful plants.
950 species of camelia, 350 different magnolias, azalias, peonies and rhododendrons may be viewed here. These are interspersed with ivy, pine and juniper bushes and other, including some rare, European and exotic conifers.

Nurseryman Otto Eisenhut once added his valuable botanical collection to this extremely attractive landscaped garden. The Parco Botanico del Gambarogno foundation now ensures the long-term continuation of this work. Plantlovers, naturelovers and other visitors will need an hour to view the gardens. Experts may need to allow for longer than this to fully appreciate what’s on offer.
