Zugerberg

Zug’s iconic local mountain is well worth a visit no matter what the season. The magnificent view from the mountain (925 m) extends to the foothills of the Alps.

Some 80 kilometres of marked hiking trails take you past protected high moorland and a diverse range of flora and fauna. And features such as the sculpture trail, the Schattwäldli adventure playground as well as the numerous BBQ sites are sure to interest all the family. You can also hire scooters at the mountain station. In winter, there are four groomed winter hiking trails, a 27 km cross-country ski trail, a 2.5 km long tobogganing route and a children's ski lift in this magical winter wonderland. The Zugerberg Bahn railway will take you up the Zugerberg in a few minutes and operates every day. To get to the Schönegg base station, catch the bus on line 11 from the Zug train station.
