Farinet's Trail

  • Image 1

Description

Farinet was a famous adventurer and a master of forgery. Born 150 years ago, he took refuge at Saillon and became a legend.
In 1995, a special trail was dedicated to him. A talented glass maker from Täsch, Theo Imboden, produced 21 splendid stain-glass sculptures set along the trail leading from the foot of the hill at Saillon to the smallest vineyard in the world, the very one that once belonged to Farinet. The three-dimensional pieces catch the sun and play games with its rays all day long.

The motives are inspired by woodcarvings the artist Robert Hèritier created for the Farinet of Budry. (About two hours roundtrip, accessible to children from 6 years.)
