Homberg Observation Tower

Description

The Homberg overlooks the Seetal region and the adjacent Wynental valley. The views of snow-capped peaks, green pastures and deep blue lakes from the top of the tower are magnificent.
The Homberg observation tower is 17 meters high and offers views in southern direction of the Oberwynental in Canton Aargau and the Michelsamt in Canton Lucerne. Lakes Hallwil and Baldegg as well as the chain of the eastern Alps with Mt. Säntis are visible in the east. To the west are Stierenberg, the western Alps and the western part of the Jura mountain range. In winter the tower is frequently drenched in bright sunlight high above a sea of fog. The nearby rustic Homberg inn with its generous terrace and fun children's playground is a lovely place to linger. The Homberg is a popular destination for day trips and easy to reach by passenger boat across Lake Hallwil or by the Seetal and Wynental railways.
