Observation Terrace Sphinx

Description

The Jungfraujoch is not only an attractive vantage point, but also an ideal location for various research projects in the fields of geology, astronomy, and more.
The laboratories are not open to the public, but their fantastic viewing terraces can be visited by all. They offer a panoramic view of the Alps and guarantee an unforgettable experience. Enjoy the high alpine wonderland of ice, snow and rock around the Aletsch Glacier, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Sphinx is located at 3571 meters above sea level. Europe’s highest railway station, nicknamed “Top of Europe” for that reason, is located in the interior of the Sphinx. A path specially prepared for leisurely walks leads from the Jungfraujoch to the Mönchsjoch Hut. The walk takes 1.5 hours, depending on weather conditions.
