The Mondglas glass factory in Hallau was established in 2004. It is the only one of its kind that works with coloured glass. An instructor helps the visitors blow their own glass bowl.
Visitors get to experience at first hand how glowing hot, still liquid glass achieves its shape and is transformed into a work of art. And they even have the opportunity to try their hand at this craft! Well suited for individual visitors, groups and school classes.
What is glass in fact and how is it created? The show-glassworks boasts a variety of ovens in operation. Here one can experience how glass is colored and what “polished by fire” signifies. Demonstrations, sphere-blowing for young (4 years and older) and old, artist’s workshop with items on sale and courses ranging from several hours to two days.
