There’s still so much you can read about the north face of the Eiger, but given the chance, why not experience the mystical aura and a dream come true!
The two and a half kilometer stretch from the station of the Eiger Glacier up to Kleine Scheidegg bids an interesting hike that you can also make the other way round. Here’s the place to learn of the triumphs and tragedies that took place on the north face of the Eiger. And with the Eiger North Wall never out of sight, making your way along this particular stretch, diverse station are pointed out at which you can learn the turbulent history of the Eiger North Wall.

Inside the "Chilchli" in Fallboden you discover a six-meter high model of the Eiger with 14 different routes that traverse the north wall. One of which is home to the old Mitellegihütte that dates back to 1924 - and now serves as exhibition space for climbing equipment of both yesteryear and today’s more modern aids. And the names of all Eiger North Face climbers are engraved in natural stone by the Fallbodensee lake, which the Eiger Walk leads past. One is also reminded of the 69 climbers who lost their lives in their attempts to conquer the Eiger North Wall.
