Description

The scenic train Aqualino brings closer one of Switzerland's most beautiful areas.
Route: Landquart - Klosters - Scuol-Tarasp

The train cuts through charming Prättigau and then rushes through the 19 km long Vereina tunnel just after Klosters. After 20 minutes, the Aqualino arrives in the sun-flooded Engadine and turns left. The village of Scuol sports many houses covered in the traditional art form called sgraffito, a two-toned plaster with one scratched away to reveal a pattern. Here, Romantsch, Switzerland's fourth official language, is still spoken.

The fountains spout the local mineral water, making them into popular gathering places. And don't forget to go to the baths here, to experience the mineral spa for which Scuol is famous. A special attraction is the close-by Swiss National Park, a forest mostly untouched by human hand.
