Bosco Gurin

Bosco Gurin is located in the upper Maggia Valley in the south of Switzerland in the canton of Ticino. The small mountain village stands out for its location, nestled in the Alps, and its unspoiled nature.

Stroll through the village with its traditional wooden houses and discover the Walser Museum. Learn more about the history of the Walser people on the “Sentiero Walser” themed trail. Bosco Gurin is the only remaining Walser village in Ticino. To this day, some residents still speak the Walser German “Ggurijnartitsch”. In summer, Bosco Gurin is an ideal starting point for hikes. Popular routes lead to Lago di Bosco, an idyllic mountain lake, or to Alpe Quadrella. The “Ggurijnar Sentiero” adventure trail is ideal for families, where nature and Walser history can be discovered in a fun way.

In the area around Bosco Gurin, you can explore other hidden valleys such as the Lavizzara Valley. The region is ideal for mountain bike tours, picnics by mountain streams and excursions into the alpine flora. In winter, the Grossalp beckons with snowshoe trails and easy ski tours through the idyllic mountain landscape.
