Description

The water tower and the surrounding fields are among the most attractive green spaces in Basel. In early summer the area is dominated by large fields full of flowers where storks are frequent guests.
The tower offers unsurpassed panoramic views of Basel and its environs. Built in 1926, it still serves as a water reservoir today. It helps to generate high pressure in the drinking water system to supply water to the higher-lying areas in the Bruderholdz neighborhood. The area around the water tower is frequently used as an event venue, such as the annual performance of the «Bruderholz Neighborhood Circus».
