Description

This concrete block in the Vallée de la Jeunesse might look unprepossessing but it's a different story inside: in the «Espace des Inventions» children get to discover the sciences in a playful way.
Located in the middle of the incomparable Vallée de la Jeunesse, that serpentine-shaped alley of flowers and playgrounds, the «flourishing chanterelle» (Chanterelle épanouie) with its origins in the National Exhibition 1964 is just waiting to be discovered. This building now houses the Espace des Inventions, an interactive science museum for children. The elegant building seeks dialogue with the flora of the area and, with its roof being a mere 12 cm thick, departs from the usual appearance of a massive concrete structure.
