The grotto tour takes you on a culinary tour of discovery by boat. Visitors are taken to the grottos, a kind of tavern, and picked up again two hours later.
The idea arose because many of the cosy grottos on the shores of Lake Lugano can only be reached on foot or by boat. The boat sets out directly to Brasato, Polenta and Kerzenschein.
It sails during the summer months, starting in Lugano, then on to Paradiso and further to Grotto Pescatori via San Rocco and Caprino. From there, it’s on to Grotto Elvezia via Gandria and then back to Lugano.
More information For visitors who want to visit a grotto on foot, the hike from Caprino to Cantine di Gandria along Lake Lugano is highly recommended. A lot of the grottos are along the way and are tempting places to make a stop for a tasty meal or glass of wine.
