Description

Besides its extensive network of ski pistes, Samnaun offers a very special opportunity – this village in the far east of Switzerland is a paradise for duty-free shopping. The wide slopes of the Duty-Free Run take you from the Palinkopf mountain on the Austrian-Swiss border directly to the shopping mile.
Samnaun has been traditionally exempt from Swiss customs charges, since the village was only accessible from Austria in former times. Now, skiing and duty-free shopping blend well together here in the cross-border ski area of Samnaun-Ischgl. The Duty-Free Run takes you directly from the Palinkopf to the duty-free shops in the village. This intermediate piste has some broad sections that are perfectly suited to carving. Less experienced skiers can easily avoid the steep section near the Zeblas waterfall.
