The well-preserved historic village center of S-chanf radiates a pristine charm and reflects the spirit of a culture which is still strongly rooted in its Romanic origins.
Its historic village center, traditional culture and unique nature landscape surrounding it have made S-chanf a place worthy to be protected. Situated at the door to the Swiss national park, it has gained in importance for tourism in the upper Engadine in the past decades, but has nevertheless been able to perpetuate its traditional character, paired with openmindedness.
