First of all, pause for a moment, look out over the surrounding mountains such as Schafrügg or Erzhorn from the Obersee or Untersee and simply enjoy the scenery: and this is just the start of your tour of discovery through Arosa. Take the Arosa cable car to the Weisshorn, stop off at the Tschuggenhütte restaurant and continue on to the Schwellisee lake. Then treat yourself to some spa and wellness offerings. Squirrel Trail and Bear Sanctuary

Arosa is family-friendly. The Squirrel Trail is a popular themed trail for all ages and provides a picturesque route through the forest. Here, you can feed squirrels with hazelnuts or walnuts (no peanuts or almonds please) and get up close to them. The Arosa Bear Sanctuary is another point of interest for all generations. In the middle of the mountain landscape, you can watch the bears as they roam in their natural habitat. During a visit to the bear platform, at over 2,000 metres up, you will also learn a lot of exciting things about the animals.

Weisshorn – ski area and hiking paradise

The Arosa Lenzerheide ski area offers you over 225 kilometres of perfectly groomed ski and snowboard slopes in winter. In summer, you can explore the area on a variety of hiking and mountain biking trails around the Weisshorn. Whether you find yourself doing winter sports or hiking: the view of the surrounding mountains while doing so is simply magnificent.

Around Arosa

From Arosa, you can reach Chur, the oldest city in Switzerland, in just under an hour. From Arosa to Chur, the trail leads through the idyllic Schanfigg valley. In winter, you can take the Hörnli-Urdenfürggli cable car to the ski area of Lenzerheide. Only around ten kilometres from Arosa, you’ll find Tschiertschen, a picturesque village with beautiful hiking trails.
