Winterthur is a city of engines, locomotives, and engineers. The Stadtspielwerk is an 11-metre high iron sculpture that incorporates this tradition and renders it tangible through contemporary art.

The “Stadtspielwerk” links together different periods of the city’s history: the historical surroundings, industrial heritage of the 19th and 20th centuries, and art of the present day. The Stadtspielwerk plays every hour from 10 am to 10 pm daily.
