Swiss Wrestling (“Schwingen”) is part of the deeply rooted heritage of Diemtigtal Valley and is extremely popular. The adventure path “Wrestling & Tradition” was opened in June 2013, in the Springboden-Diemtigtal Valley area.
The hiking loop begins at the parking lot of Hasenloch in Springboden and takes about 1.5 hours. The sign-posted theme trail has various stations where visitors learn important details about Swiss Wrestling and about customs and traditions. There is a wrestling pavilion at the beginning of the trail, with an exhibition of wrestling props. The life-like wooden bull “Arnold” from Frauenfeld and the life-sized statue of the wrestling champion Kilian Wenger can be admired here. The interesting round-trip hiking trail (not suitable for baby strollers) has a variety of catering facilities.
