Description

The Vernex Park is set on the shores of Lake Geneva next to the Auditorium Stravinsky and offers walkers a green area along the extension of the flourishing quays of the Montreux Riviera. Each July, one of the stages for the Montreux Jazz Festival is set up in this park.
Between its large, century-old trees and its majestic magnolias, the Vernex Park is home to several works of art, including the fountain "in memory of Vibeke" by Jean Flemming Soerensen and the Montrailes sculpture by Antoine Poncet. At one end of the park, busts of Richard Strauss and Miles Davis by Bernard Bavaud face each other, reminding visitors of the Montreux Riviera’s magnificent past. On the other side, the playground and slightly sloping lawn ensure that the Vernex Park remains a popular meeting place for families and for walkers seeking tranquility.
