Fiesch
Fiesch: The family-friendly village with suspension rope park and the “Gogwärgiweg” dwarf-themed trail is ideally located in terms of transport. Against the stunning permanent backdrop of the Valais 4,000m peaks, the many leisure activities in the Aletsch Arena and excursions to the Aletsch Glacier or Goms will inspire you.
That’s Fiesch
Fiesch is located in the south of Switzerland in
Valais. The village between the Rhone and Fiescher valleys is an ideal base for excursions to the
Aletsch Arena,
Goms and the
Furka and
Grimsel Alpine passes.
Discover Fiesch
Your stroll through Fiesch will take you to the pedestrianised centre of the village with its traditional chalets. You will be amazed at the clever construction of the hay barns: Stilts with stone slabs between the upper and lower levels were designed to keep pests and moisture at bay. Looking for thrills? Not far from Fiesch, the Goms Bridge crosses the Lamma Gorge. At 280 metres, it is one of the longest suspension bridges in Switzerland. The Sport Resort promises plenty of action with an indoor swimming pool, bouldering hall and the unique
Swiss Suspension Rope Park.
Fiesch and Eggishorn passenger hub
As a passenger hub, changing transport is child’s play in Fiesch: Buses run on the lower level, the
Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn stops in the middle and up above you can catch the cable car to Fiescheralp. From there, take the cable car to the
Eggishorn vantage point. At almost 3000 metres, you can marvel at the
Aletsch Glacier in its entire length – even up as far as the
Jungfraujoch.
Outdoor sports in the Aletsch Arena
The range of sports on offer in the
Aletsch Arena is huge. In winter, a
snowshoe tour to Fiescheralp is almost irresistible. The winter hiking trails to
Riederalp or
Bettmeralp offer a magnificent view of the Valais 4,000m peaks. The
Eggishorn-Heimatt slope combines skiing fun with magnificent views. The
Fieschalp-Lax toboggan run takes you down into the valley, preferably on a Valais Ghosky sled. In summer, you can get out and about with the family on the
Gogwärgiweg dwarf-themed trail or on the
via ferrata on the Eggishorn or maybe you’d prefer the adventure of a
glacier tour.
Around Fiesch
You can reach the Upper Valais population centres of
Brig or
Visp in about half an hour from Fiesch. On the other side of the Rhone Valley is the pretty village of
Ernen, the gateway to the
Binn Valley. Explore the high valley of
Goms or enjoy a trip across the
Grimsel Pass or the
Furka Pass with the
Rhone Glacier.
