Discover the Lucerne-Lake Lucerne Region

Lucerne is absolutely worth seeing for the Chapel Bridge and the lake. A boat trip is an ideal way to discover the many contrasting faces of Lake Lucerne. Speaking of contrasts: How about a trip to the mystical Muota Valley with the Hölloch? Guided tours lead visitors through the more than 200-kilometre-long cave with its bizarre rock formations. The most popular summer and winter sports resorts in the region: Andermatt on the Gotthard and Engelberg with the Titlis.

The six top mountains of central Switzerland

Spectacular cable cars and mountain railways will take you to the six top peaks in the region: There are no fewer than nine ways to reach the Rigi. Mount Pilatus boasts the world’s steepest cogwheel railway, while Stoos has the steepest funicular. Enjoy the thrill of the open cable car to the Stanserhorn or something more nostalgic with the steam cog railway to the Brienzer Rothorn. Another iconic mountain destination is the Titlis with its rotating cable car and the Cliff Walk.

Tip: Don’t miss the Sihlsee with the pilgrimage centre of Einsiedeln and its baroque monastery complex.
