Viamala Region

History
Avers is first mentioned in 1292 as Anue or Avre. In 1354 it was mentioned as Auers.
Geography
Avers has an area, as of 2006, of 93.1 km2 (35.9 sq mi). Of this area, 50% is used for agricultural purposes, while 5.5% is forested.
