History
Coffrane is first mentioned in 1092 as de Cusfrano.
Coffrane is also the site of the Battle of Coffrane, 1296.
Geography
Coffrane had an area, as of 2009, of 6.5 square kilometers (2.5 sq mi). Of this area, 4.11 km2 (1.59 sq mi) or 63.3% is used for agricultural purposes, while 1.71 km2 (0.66 sq mi) or 26.3% is forested.
