Le Pâquier (French: [lə pɑkje]; Arpitan: Le Pâquiér [lə paˈci] ) is a municipality in the district of Gruyère in the Canton of Fribourg in Switzerland .

History

Le Pâquier is first mentioned in 1637 as Pasquier.

Geography

Le Pâquier has an area, as of 2009, of 4.5 square kilometers (1.7 sq mi). Of this area, 3.08 km2 (1.19 sq mi) or 68.6% is used for agricultural purposes, while 0.78 km2 (0.30 sq mi) or 17.4% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 0.59 km2 (0.23 sq mi) or 13.1% is settled (buildings or roads), 0.02 km2 (4.9 acres) or 0.4% is either rivers or lakes and 0.01 km2 (2.5 acres) or 0.2% is unproductive land.
Of the built up area, housing and buildings made up 8.7% and transportation infrastructure made up 2.4%.
