Who we are

Chocolat Stella SA, an independent family company, was founded in Lugano in 1928. Since 1980 belong to the Müller family.
We constantly promote Swiss quality. We are inspired by the culture of innovation and pioneering, which leads us to the development of multivalent niche products.
In 1988, the production site was moved to Giubiasco and with the expansion of the factory in 2014, Chocolat Stella met the highest international production standards.
We export 70% of our products in more than 50 countries around the world.

Production

We have a high expertise in the selection of the best raw materials as well as in the development of innovative and unusual recipes that are always in harmony with the needs of consumers. We give a great importance to health and food safety. For this reason, we do not use GMO ingredients (genetically modified organisms). We carefully evaluate the risk associated with allergens and food allergies. We work with cocoa beans from 20 different countries, which allow us to process 350 basic recipes. Over 65% of our row materials come from biological and Fairtrade controlled cultivations.

Sustainability

We focus on the issues social, ethics in business and environment. We have been reward with the "Agiamo Insieme" initiative for professional reintegration and have received the prize "Premio Pari opportunità" for our contribution to the integration of women in the world of work. We are pioneer in the production of organic and Fairtrade chocolate. We buy our raw materials directly from the cooperatives of small producers in different countries in the world.
We contribute their development with economic and technical assistances to support their projects. We are one of the producers who has low environmental impact. Our energy requirements and our CO2 emissions are below the average values of the Swiss chocolate industry.
