History
Courgevaux is first mentioned in 1055 as Corgivul.
Geography
Courgevaux has an area, as of 2009, of 3.4 square kilometers (1.3 sq mi). Of this area, 1.96 km2 (0.76 sq mi) or 58.3% is used for agricultural purposes, while 0.89 km2 (0.34 sq mi) or 26.5% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 0.54 km2 (0.21 sq mi) or 16.1% is settled (buildings or roads), 0.02 km2 (4.9 acres) or 0.6% is either rivers or lakes.
