Nel 1982 Bruce Springsteen, interpretato nel film da Jeremy Allen White, lavora al suo album più radicale, «Nebraska». Oppresso dalla fama, rinuncia allo studio di registrazione e si ritira nella sua camera da letto. Lì compone canzoni cupe che parlano di colpa, smarrimento e violenza. «Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere» mostra l'artista tormentato e il suo capolavoro involontario.
