Fondueland – the perfect mix


With its gently rolling landscapes and varied cheese specialities, the destination Gstaad is the perfect place to enjoy a fondue in natural alpine surroundings.
Two specially equipped huts that come with four oversized fondue pots for up to eight people each serve as a wonderful panoramic backdrop against which to enjoy a lovely meal with friends or family. Visitors can decide whether to indulge in a delicious fondue at these specially prepared spots along the trail or outdoors in a completely natural environment. The fondue huts can be accessed on foot or by bike in summer, but once the snow comes, they are best reached by sled or on snowshoes.
The Chessler and Bodmen fondue huts near Schönried and Saanemöser are wonderful places for fondue even in poor weather, while the giant fondue pots called Schlittmoos, Vorderi Vispile, Grossi Vorschess and Käsegrotte offer a very special outdoor fondue experience.

The nostalgic-looking fondue rucksack makes it all possible. It includes all the ingredients you need for an irresistible outdoor experience: choose between a creamy classic fondue or aromatic truffle fondue with crunchy fondue bread, spices, a fondue pot, a fondue burner with gel fuel, plates and forks. The rucksack is available to purchase from four dairies or at the Wispile mountain hut. Orders should be placed one day in advance.
