From humble beginnings in a cramped flat to a snowballing success story: “Schuum-Bier” was created by two friends and is now well on its way to becoming a household name.
The two friends are both musicians – and now beer brewers too! The creators of “Schuum” report that they try out almost anything on their quest to brew the perfect beer and that the most important factor is time. There is no secret recipe, they say.
It all started out in a small flat. At some point down the line, they relocated to a laundry, and now the makers of ”Schuum” are the proud owners of a microbrewery located at Stöckackerstrasse 50c (next to the Weyermannshaus open-air swimming pool) in the beer capital of Bern. This is their own space to tinker around with new ideas and brew professionally. The beers they produce range from bock, pilsner and stout through to red, brown, pale and summer ales. “Schuum” reflects the current zeitgeist and has a loyal and growing customer base.
Each Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., the brewery throws open its doors for the public to sample the wide variety of beer on offer.
