The downhill run from the top station of the Plattjen cableway to Saas-Fee is best suited to experienced skiers. The slope enables a rapid descent with views of the Mischabel range. It was not by chance that World Cup races were once held here.
Switzerland’s highest-altitude areas are located around Saas-Fee, with 18 four-thousand-metre peaks surrounding the valley. They rise up in three directions around this car-free village and form a vast arena fringed with bluish shimmering glaciers. Visitors to the Plattjen ski area enjoy stunning views of this spectacular mountain scenery. The slopes are an experienced skier’s delight. Besides the two red and black marked Galen pistes, there are also freeride sections that provide a special treat.
