Conventional Pellets Conventional pellets predominantly use sawdust and wood shavings for production. In Switzerland, there is an insufficient supply of these materials, leading to imports. Many pellets are also directly imported, mainly from Belarus and Eastern Europe. BeO Pellets GmbH does not use imported sawdust and wood shavings.

BeO Pellets' Contribution to Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Energy wood from the Bernese Oberland is used efficiently, with short transport routes. Wood pellets are an excellent fuel and allow for automatic heating operations similar to oil or gas heating systems. Wood pellets and wood chips are renewable energies and CO2 neutral. Their grey energy share is the lowest among all heating systems.
