Dopo «La pantera delle Nevi», Vincent Munier ci porta nelle foreste dei Vosgi, dove suo padre Michel gli ha insegnato a osservare e interpretare il mondo animale. Ora entrambi trasmettono queste conoscenze al figlio Simon. Nascosti tra gli abeti, tre generazioni esplorano la diversità della natura, aspettano pazientemente di avvistare animali rari e ascoltano i suoni delle antiche foreste e la loro bellezza.
